Tekno, whose full name is Augustine Miles Kelechi Okechukwu, is a famous Nigerian singer and songwriter. He is also known to compose beats for diverse artists while promoting his music in the entertainment industry.

Early Life And Education

Tekno, whose full name is Augustine Miles Kelechi Okechukwu, was born ok the 17th of December, 1992, in Bauchi state, Nigeria. He is originally from Ivo local government area of Ebonyi state, Nigeria, and was born into a family of 6 – consisting of five boys and one girl.

Tekno was raised in numerous areas of the country, which includes Kaduna, Nassarawa, and Abuja, as a result of his father being a member of the Nigerian Army. He was enrolled in a music school at the age of 8. It was there that he learned a lot about playing the piano and guitar.

Tekno further attended Heritage School in Kaduna state Nigeria, where he completed his secondary education. Aside from this, there is no information on the university he attended for his high education.

Personal Life

Tekno is currently in a relationship with singer Rachel Akosua Garton who is famously known as Lola Rae. They welcomed their first child in 2018.

Career

Tekno started his career under K-Money Entertainment and released his first single titled “Holiday.” This single featured vocals from Davido and was massively applauded by fans.

In 2012, he was spotted by Nigerian Comedian Julius Agwu at an event in Abuja. During the same period, Tekno met with Iyanya and Ubi Franklin, the manager of Made Men Music Group (MMG), and became friends with them.

After much persuasion, Tekno moved to Lagos and signed a recording contract with Made Men Music Group, where he launched the singles “Dance” and “Anything.” He has contributed to the music industry by releasing multiple singles, such as Duro and Wash, in 2015.

Tekno has earned a name for himself while being featured by DJ Cuppy on “Green Light,” teaming up with American singer Ciara on “Freak Me,” and being a part-producer of “Won’t Be Late” by Swae Lee featuring Drake.

In 2018, he got signed by Universal Music Group Nigeria (UMGN). Tekno was featured on Beyounce’s The Lion King: The Gift Soundtrack in July 2019. In 2022, Kizz Daniel’s “Buga” track was the most shazamed tune featuring Tekno.
