Oxlade whose real name is Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman was born on the 22nd of April, 1997 into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Abdulrahman. He hails from the South-West and spent the majority of his formative years in Surulere; one of the thrilling locations in the Mainland area of Lagos State.
Oxlade developed a strong interest in music at a young age and even started singing and equally playing the guitar. While growing up, he was exposed to several music genres which significantly influenced his current style.
There is limited information on the schools in which Oxlade attended for his primary and secondary education. However, he was admitted into the Lagos State University to study History and International Relations. But after two years, Oxlade dropped out to focus on his music career.

Oxlade’s big break in the music industry came in 2018 when he released “Mamiwota”, a song where he featured rapper and popularly known musician, Blaqbonez.Â
Thereafter, he released his debut single titled “Shugar” which further helped in boosting his popularity and spot in the music industry. Still working tirelessly, Oxlade released “Sing” in 2019 while featuring top vocalist and Nigerian rising star, Fireboy DML.
Later that same year, He released his debut EP titled “Oxygene”, a song that racked up positive reviews and further displayed his musical prowess. Â
