Early Life And Education 

Black Sherif whose real name is Mohammed Ismail Sherif was born on the 9th of January, 2002 in Konongo, Ashanti Region of Ghana. He was staying with his aunt and other extended family members at a young age. 

Given his nomad lifestyle, Black Sherif was exposed to different influences and diverse African cultures. He attended Konongo Zongo Islamic Basic School for his primary education before proceeding to Pinamang Educational Complex where he completed his junior high school.

Thereafter, Black Sherif went to Kumasi Academy where he completed his secondary education and equally grew an interest in music and dance. He attended the University of Ghana before fully committing to becoming a musician.

Black Sherif is not in any relationship at the moment. He has previously stressed that she wants to focus on his music career.

Career 

Black Sherif started his music career in 2019 when he released “Cry For Me” on YouTube. Thereafter he decided to release his debut single titled “Money” on May 25th, 2020 which came with a music video.

This song became an instant hit given his context; Black Sherif addressed the struggles and aspirations of youth and this further helped to bring him into the spotlight. After the release of “Money”, he decided to release another hit single titled “Second Sermon”, a song which he did a remix with Grammy Award winner and Nigerian artist, Burna Boy.

Black Sherif’s breakthrough in the music industry came in March 2022 when he released the single “Kwaku The Traveler”, a song that reached the top spot on both Ghanaian and Nigerian Apple Music charts and became a popular song.

Black Sherif has also enjoyed success on the international stage as he performed at the 25th anniversary of the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards which was held at the OVO Arena in Wembley, London.

In 2022, he decided and hosted his debut concert in Accra, Ghana titled “Mozama Disco Concert”.

Black Sherif is a Best Hip-Hop Award winner, an award he received at the Soundcity MVP Awards.
